Product Description
Rizapain 10mg Tablet is a prescription medication primarily used for the acute treatment of moderate to severe migraine attacks in adults. It contains the active ingredient rizatriptan, which belongs to a class of drugs known as triptans (selective serotonin receptor agonists).
This medication is designed to treat headaches that have already started; it cannot prevent migraines or reduce the frequency of future attacks.
How It Works
During a migraine, blood vessels in the brain dilate (widen) and become inflamed. Rizapain works by narrowing (constricting) these blood vessels and blocking pain pathways in the brain, which helps relieve the headache, nausea, and sensitivity to light or sound.
Standard Dosage and Administration
Timing: Take the tablet as soon as possible after the migraine headache begins.
Initial Dose: The typical adult dose is 10 mg.
Repeat Doses: If the migraine returns within 24 hours, a second dose may be taken, but you must wait at least 2 hours between the first and second tablet.
Maximum Limit: Do not exceed 20 mg (two 10mg tablets) within a 24-hour period.
Important Note: If the first dose does not provide any relief for your migraine, do not take a second dose for the same attack. Consult your healthcare provider instead.
